Small Group Leaders/Floaters

Arrive by 5:30 each night, pick up your name tag in the registration area, and be in your assigned row in the Worship Center ready to accept children by 5:45.  If you will be late for any reason, please notify Katie (812.455.4636) so we can make sure someone is at your row to greet your group until you arrive.

• As children arrive, write down each child's security code from his/her name tag on your clipboard. The codes change every night. If a child gets added to your group who didn't preregister, the name won't be typed out, so you'll write down both the name and security code.

• Make sure each child wears his/her name tag each night.

• Give a yellow wristband to children with allergies and a red wristband to children who aren't allowed to have their photos taken. Those will be listed on your clipboard.

• To protect privacy and because we have some kids in foster care, do not take pictures of children at VBS. Approved CFC photographers will capture the fun and be posted after VBS.

• When you take your group from the worship center please take your group clipboard with you. It will contain a roster, accident cards, prayer cards, and your schedule.

• Your rotation leaders will guide you through each evening’s activities.

• PARTICIPATE with children in the activities.

• Please do not use your phone during VBS unless you need to contact CFCKids for VBS Directors Team: 812-470-1028. Focus on connecting with the kids and connecting them to each other and the lessons and activities.

• Make sure each child is checked out at the end of each night.  Release children ONLY to those who have the correct security number.  Contact Children’s Ministry staff or VBS directors, if you have any concerns before releasing a child.  

• In preparation, please pray for the children you will be leading this week.  Also, become familiar with the Lessons for each night (see the Devotions in the Helper Handbook).
